T.ba was born as a cosmopolitan concept of countryside clothing, successfully evolving to the fashion world without loosing T.ba’s identity, which makes its collections so special.
Beyond following market trends, T.ba seeks something unique, different, timeless, eternal, and innovative. It is a brand that achieves these values thanks to subtle details and elegant patterns that make the collections burst with femininity and romanticism.
"To create my collections, I draw inspiration from details and inspiration from other eras, transforming them into current trends," says Mercedes, founder and creative director
We seek fabrics of very high quality and sometimes manufacture exceptional ones that are no longer available.
Being aware of the environmental impact of the textile manufacturing processes, we use fabrics with natural components. We are strong advocates of wool as a sustainable fabric. We experiment with enzymatic baths and natural dyes. Above all, we believe that fabrics have to be natural and durable. We like to see how some of our articles age elegantly, improving over time and with use.
T.ba is present in 22 countries in multi brand boutiques, with own stores in Madrid and London.
In August 2011 the T.ba store in Madrid was opened, being an important experience for the brand for the possibility of creating and conveying the spirit and style of the brand. In December 2014 T.ba opened a store in Sloane Square, London. In September 2017, the T.ba store in South Molton Street, London, was established.
T.ba is a family owned firm strongly influenced by the cultural heritage of its founders.
The family's cultural background has been deeply connected to horses since their settlement in Jerez de la Frontera, a small town in the south of Spain, in the thirteenth century. The family estate, known as "El Salto al Cielo" (Jump to Heaven) played a significant role in the development of the majestic "Cartujano" horse breed by the Monks of the Carthusian Order.
In addition to the equestrian heritage, the family was influenced by the arrival of British wine producers and their families in Jerez during the nineteenth century. They brought with them their traditions, fashion, and way of life, which seamlessly blended with the existing local traditions. This fusion created a unique, dynamic, and cosmopolitan social scene and lifestyle in this small part of Spain.
The elegance of the equestrian world at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century had a strong presence in Jerez de la Frontera. This gave rise to an intense social life and important events centered around equestrian sports such as horse races and polo matches.
In fact, the first Polo Club which is registered in Europe was in Jerez in 1870, “El Xerez Polo Club”. The polo teams from Jerez with their elegant wives shined also in Deauville and Windsor seasons, and they brought with them back to Jerez the most exclusive fabrics, tweeds and fashion from the most fashionable places in Europe.
T.ba has embraced the essence of that time and adapted it in a trendy and fashionable way. The brand incorporates sophisticated fabrics, exclusive tweed patterns, a blend of yarns in hundreds of different colors, unique buttons reminiscent of precious jewels, colorful linings, old laces, exquisite trimmings…
At T.ba, there is a continuous research in vintage tailoring and pattern craftsmanship from an era when each piece was meticouslosly crafted by skilled artisians.
In their accessories, T.ba emphasizes the importance of craftsmanship, carefully selecting the finest leather pieces. The brand is committed to using environmentally friendly manufacturing processes whenever possible.
“T.ba is an aesthetic feeling, inspired by my heritage, my life, my soul.
It’s been built up step by step, trying to keep in every piece
both the spirit of the past and the future to become timeless..”
